Ultrafondo 2026: the plan worked because we knew how to change it
For Laura, José, and me, that edition had left us with a bittersweet feeling. We had broken our personal distance records, but we had not reached the goal we had set for ourselves. In the end, I was the one who made the decision to stop the attempt. We still had kilometers ahead of us on a road that was in poor condition, and the lack of visibility was going to turn the final stretch into a risk that simply did not make sense for us as a group.
What Brings Us Together Can Also Pull Us Apart
Sometimes, it becomes easy to make enjoyment depend on winning, or on beating someone else. Sometimes, we hold on to the idea that simply because we deserve something, we should achieve it. And many other times, we confuse believing we are better with being better than others.
Beyond The Ride
The funny thing is that, despite being “the most connected,” that day we were disconnected. We couldn’t talk or exchange messages on the road. Live location sharing never worked.
And still, the summit brought us together.
It was a brief, emotional, almost timeless meeting—short in minutes, permanent in memory. A shared achievement, a memory built at altitude.
Infinity Virtual Tour: 4 weeks, 4 challenges, one goal: consistency as a team
The Infinity Virtual Tour is more than an indoor race series — it’s a progressive experience built to celebrate what matters most when we ride together: consistency, teamwork, and commitment. Over four consecutive weeks, teams of 2–3 riders took on four stages on MyWhoosh, under a points system that rewards not only performance, but also full attendance and collective effort.
Wakefield Time Trial 2025
On Sunday, September 28, the roads between Chelsea and Wakefield became the stage for another exciting chapter in the cycling scene of the Capital Region. A total of 47 riders lined up to take part in the Wakefield Time Trial — an event that once again blended competition, camaraderie, and community spirit.
Annual Ultrafondo GCC 2025
This ride gave us more than just kilometers: it strengthened bonds, tested our resilience, and taught us that true victory lies in pedaling with others in mind.
GCC Convention: Community, Knowledge, and a Shared Future
The event combined community dialogue with a structured academic agenda focused on improving performance, well-being, and practical knowledge for all participants.
Manotick Time Trial 2025
On Sunday, June 8, the roads of Manotick became the stage for a new chapter in the region’s cycling scene. Dozens of riders gathered to take part in a time trial that combined sport, challenge, and community spirit.
GCC Season 2025
The 2025 season of the Gatineau Cycling Club is about to begin, and we’re coming in strong with activities for all levels and styles! If the weather allows, we’ll kick off in late April with a diverse calendar designed to strengthen our cycling community, sharpen our skills, and most of all — enjoy the ride!
